Bengal-based pharmaceutical firm Teva Pharmaceuticals is planning a 'pharmaceutical-grade' treatment to enhance blood flow to the penis. The treatment, which will be named after the late pharmacist, Dr Mark Dusch, is said to be "a revolutionary discovery in erectile dysfunction treatment".
The company had earlier this year begun marketing a treatment for erectile dysfunction, which it hopes will be more effective and lower the risk of impotence. "This is a revolutionary product and we hope to continue its progress," said the company's managing director, Dr Pankration, Dr Paul Dusch.
The medicine, which is currently in development for a treatment for premature ejaculation, is made by Teva, which in turn is based in Britain. The company is set to begin selling the drug on the market in the first quarter of this year.
The drug will be manufactured at the plant in Birmingham, and the company is working to develop a treatment for erectile dysfunction that would allow men to achieve and maintain an erection in bed. A study by the UK health service's Research and Development Office estimated the number of men diagnosed with erectile dysfunction in England between 2004 and 2008, while a study by the National Health Service showed the number of men diagnosed in the UK in 2006 to be higher than it had been in 2005.
The first phase of the treatment will be carried out by Teva's research unit, which was established in 1991. In 2007, it was established as a research company and has its own research group called 'Bengal-based pharmaceuticals'. It is now the biggest of all erectile dysfunction drugs.
New treatment for erectile dysfunction - how men can take it - from a manufacturer of Viagra and Cialis. © Alyssa Media Group. All Rights Reserved.Teva Pharmaceuticals has signed a definitive agreement to resolve a patent dispute between Teva and a British-based company, Apotex Inc.
The issue has brought the company's business to a head earlier this year, when Teva was forced to withdraw the patent on the erectile dysfunction drug, Cialis, because of concerns over the safety of the drug. The UK regulatory body has approved the drug, which Teva is developing, as "one of the most effective erectile dysfunction drugs".
The UK regulator has approved the erectile dysfunction drug, Viagra, as a "popular treatment" in 1998. In addition, the drug is approved for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension, a condition in which blood vessels become narrow. It is also approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men. Pfizer Inc., the drug's manufacturer, said the approval of Viagra would mean Teva's market share would "be very much increased" in the United States.
The UK regulator also has decided that Pfizer Inc's Cialis patent on the drug will be valid until December 2023, when it will be approved for its U. S. sale. The company has also agreed to allow its U. patent to expire before the end of the year, but the company remains "reviewing" the matter.
According to a statement by Teva's CEO, Dr David Brennan, "we are very excited to launch our new treatment, Cialis, for erectile dysfunction in men, at a time when we have the best medical infrastructure, and we will continue to develop the next generation of treatments for this chronic condition."
Teva has already received US approval for a "popular treatment" for erectile dysfunction at a cost of $1.7 billion for the year ending September 30, according to IQVIA.
The company's patent for Viagra will be valid until June 2021. Pfizer Inc's patent will expire on December 2023 and it will be the last patent to expire in the U.
Teva's decision to withdraw a patent on Viagra is a victory for its U. patent on Viagra, which has been challenged in the patent challenge. The Viagra drug is now on patent protection in the United States. In addition, the US Food and Drug Administration has granted approval to manufacture a Viagra-based treatment for erectile dysfunction. Pfizer Inc's patent for Cialis is also set to expire by June 2021.
